Brett - writing - Mummies
Mummies Preserved Today
A mummy is someone who died and is preserved. Egyptians preserved dead bodies for the afterlife. Priests put the organs of the mummies in jars and they threw away the brain because they thought it was useless. They only left the heart in the body. They left the body to dry in salt for 40 days. They stuffed cloth and linen in the mummy, then they wrapped the mummy in linen again! They put charms in the body to ward off evil spirits, then they put the mask on the mummies and then it was laid in a series of coffins. Mummies are still preserved today!

Sophia's map
I like to learn about maps. My map went along with my memory work about history this year. I learned some of the African countries by songs. I memorized the other things I learned by hard work. We have a game called, "10 days in beautiful Africa" to help me learn about Africa. It is actually a really fun game! I'm good at it and sometimes I beat my dad.
